Who we are
AfterVue LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“AfterVue”, “we”, “us”), builds the AfterVue preview app and provides AI marketing services to aesthetic practices. AfterVue is operated from Florida, USA. Contact: mikel@getaftervue.com.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to this website (getaftervue.com), the AfterVue “try it” experience, the AfterVue widget when embedded on a practice’s website, and the in-practice consult app used on a practice’s tablet. When you use AfterVue on a practice’s website or in a practice’s office, that practice is also responsible for your information under its own privacy notice.
What we collect
Demo and contact requests
If you request a demo or contact us, we collect the details you provide (name, practice, email, phone, message). We use them to respond to you and to schedule and follow up on demos.
AfterVue intake
Before a preview, the app asks for your first name, phone number, optional email, the areas you are curious about, and your timeframe. This information is delivered to the practice you are interacting with so a provider can review your preview with you at a consult. On the public AfterVue demo, it is delivered to AfterVue only.
In-practice consult app
The consult app keeps a short consult summary (first name if entered, treatments previewed, treatment plan items, timestamps, and a record of your consent) on the practice’s device so the practice can follow up. No photos are saved in that summary. Ask the practice if you want it removed.
Photos and the AI preview
Your photo is processed only to create your preview. AfterVue does not store it. The photo is held in memory while the preview is rendered and is discarded when the request completes. AfterVue does not use your photos to train AI models.
To render a preview, the photo is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our AI image-rendering provider solely for that purpose. We use provider configurations that do not permit the provider to use your photo to improve their services, where the provider offers such a setting, and we are migrating all rendering to an enterprise, zero-data-retention configuration. Previews are illustrative simulations generated by AI. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a guarantee of any result.
If you choose “share” or “save” on a preview, the image is created on your own device and handled by your device’s share sheet; AfterVue does not receive it.
Biometric information notice
AfterVue edits a photograph; it does not identify who you are. AfterVue does not create, collect, store, sell, or disclose biometric identifiers or biometric templates (such as faceprints, retina scans, or voiceprints), and does not use facial-recognition technology to identify individuals. Because photos are not retained, there is no photo retention schedule to publish; the photo is deleted from memory immediately after the preview is produced.
For practices: HIPAA and business-associate role
When a practice uses AfterVue with its own patients, the practice is the covered entity and AfterVue acts as a service provider. Where AfterVue may receive protected health information in that role, AfterVue signs a Business Associate Agreement with the practice, limits use of information to the services requested, and follows the safeguards described in that agreement. Patient information is used and disclosed only as the practice directs and as the agreement permits.
How information is shared
- The practice you interact with receives your intake details so a provider can review your preview with you.
- Service providers that help us run the service: web hosting and serverless infrastructure, the AI image-rendering provider (photo only, for the preview), email delivery for form submissions, and scheduling tools for demos. Each is limited to the purpose above.
- Legal: where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and analytics
The website and app do not use advertising cookies. We may use privacy-respecting usage analytics (for example, aggregate counts of previews generated and buttons pressed) to improve the product. Where analytics is enabled, IP addresses are anonymized and no photos or intake details are sent to the analytics provider.
Your choices and rights
- You can use the preview without entering an email address. A phone number is required so the practice can follow up on your consult.
- You can ask us, or the practice, to access, correct, or delete the details you provided. Email mikel@getaftervue.com and we will respond within 30 days.
- Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. Use the contact above to exercise them.
- The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit. Photos are never written to storage. Access to any systems that hold contact or intake details is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you and any affected practice as the law requires.
Changes
We will post updates to this page and change the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
